Boundaries!!!
Matters arising👀
I don't know if I'm crazy but I do genuinely believe that we sometimes give respect to the wrong people! Yes, I do!
We get to a certain point in life where people need to earn our respect, you know? And I don't mean when you're good for the money or you've done the most! I mean, you can't give respect to someone who invalidates your feelings or tries to knock off your achievements, you just can't! Btw, if you haven't noticed I love exclamation marks!!!!!!!!!! They make everything sound urgent and intense and I'm here for it!!!!!
Back to the subject matter “respect”. Don't get me wrong, when I say “earn your respect”, I don't mean you have to know them on a personal level to respect them, no! But, I go to the counter to pay for the stuff I bought, yeah and the cashier-pleasant, and accommodating- is there to scan my items through the barcode reader and issue me a receipt. I owe her respect for showing up there and attending to multiple people, she could be anywhere else but she chose to do some honest work, at least to my knowledge. I don't have to be snarl and rude because she's serving me.
Jesus that we all know, didn't give one ounce of respect to those Pharisees because honey, they weren't deserving of it lol! It's simple, be respectful in your dealings with people but you must cut the rope when that energy is not reciprocated at all! It's called “boundaries”. You don't have to be mean or nasty about it, be classy, be graceful but don't tolerate nonsense! You did it once, you do it again, and it becomes the norm that you may never see anything wrong!
Like I said, respect should be earned, not handed out! Status
, fame or wealth shouldn't be determinants for choosing who earns your respect but character, virtue and values!
This is me subliminally ranting btw. There's someone I've been tolerating after a while I said “fuck it”. You can't make demands that you can't deliver lol! I can be the bigger person for some time but I haven't lost my ability to swim in the mud with you.
Still speaking on “respect”…
I concluded this already but I saw this on Instagram and honestly, this one is a lot to unpack! At some point, we may have experienced this and I can't even go into this alone!
This one comment was striking to me! Like people will treat your children how they see you treat them! That's why I don't blame Bella on BBN, if your parents call you names constantly and say they love you still, you would believe that is common and you will tolerate anybody who does the same! Omo! This is so much to unload!
What are your thoughts on everything??
What is respect to you and how do you decide who to respect??
And the Bella/Sheggz thing, do you believe the home had a lot to do with the formation of her mindset???
I would love love to read your thoughts in the comments section!! Let's go!
